The University of Sri Jayewardenepura formally approved the appointment of Prof. K. M. C. Konthesinghe as the Director of the Center for Fire Safety Engineering (CFSE) on 20 April 2023. This appointment marked an important step in operationalising the Center and strengthening its leadership framework to guide research, academic, and industry-focused activities in fire safety engineering.
Under the leadership of Prof. Konthesinghe, the CFSE is positioned to advance high-quality research, establish strong national and international collaborations, and provide technical expertise and testing services to the construction industry. The appointment reinforces the University’s commitment to developing the CFSE as a national centre of excellence in fire safety engineering, contributing to safer, more resilient, and sustainable built environments in Sri Lanka.
